marfa: a desert oasis
Hey guys! — it’s been awhile since I’ve posted on here, I very recently got a new job working a 9-5 office job so my blog has taken a back seat — BUT I’m hoping to post more trips and lifestyle tips for you guys in the next few months!
To the good stuff— we took a little weekend trip to Marfa, located about 7 1/2 hours west of Dallas. The drive down there is long but very easy to get to - I went to college at Texas Tech University in Lubbock and I also lived in Midland for a few years so I’m VERY familiar with West Texas. There’s not a whole lot out there but definitely has various hidden gems that are worth the weekend trip. We were very grateful to be hosted by the charming Hotel Paisano while we were there and it’s the cutest little historic hotel in the heart of Marfa. They actually filmed the movie “Giant” 1956 with James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor in Marfa and they stayed in this hotel while filming— there are various photos of movie scenes showcased throughout. We enjoyed our stay and especially loved how pet friendly it was! The staff was so accommodating, not to mention the cute indoor/outdoor pool, bar and Jett’s Grill restaurant on the patio. We were walking distance to historic buildings, restaurants and shops. I highly recommend staying here if you come to Marfa!

We went to a cute little burrito spot called Marfa Burritos for lunch and got the biggest breakfast burritos ever, they were delicious! Then we went to Prada Marfa which is a quick 30 min drive. The coolest part about the Prada installment is they replace the shoes and bags every season. We had to stop and get some pictures!
