tourists in chi-town
After an action packed weekend with Derek's friends and family in Grand Haven (blog post coming this week!) we headed back to Chicago on our last day of vacation since we were flying out of Chicago O'hare. We were lucky enough to have Megan drive us and show us more tourist spots in the windy city. We planned for a bunch of touristy spots and tried to make the most of our last day in Chicago.
We made our way to The Bean in Millennium Park. It's so much bigger in person! It was pretty busy with tourists but we managed to get some good pics. We explored and walked (a lot!) around the city and finally made our way to the Navy Pier. The pier is full of different fast food spots, drinks, rides and activities for families. We rode the Ferris Wheel and got some amazing views of Chicago from up high. Perfect for pictures! We walked around, picked up some snacks and decided to take the Water Taxi back to downtown where we parked (instead of walking back). I'm so glad we managed to squeeze all those activities in before we headed to the airport! We also attempted to go up to the Sky Deck in Willis Tower before we left but it was a 2 hour wait! So insane...so we headed out and passed the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. If we had more time I would've loved to go to the beach, the weather was perfect for it. Chicago has so much to offer and I will definitely be back and do more exploring in the windy city!
