central park walkin'
Central Park is a true New York staple, so only being in New York for a couple days we had to see it! After our day at The Met museum we took a short walk to the beautiful park. What you don't think about when you go sight-seeing is how much you walk from place to place, so by the time we got to the park we were dying to sit down and take a break. We took some great pictures and didn't realize how huge this park really is...Central Park is a must see when visiting NYC!
A little later for dinner we found a hidden gem in Greenwich Village called "La Lanterna di Vittorio". This name translates to the lantern theme in the restaurant with large antique looking lamps in the dining room. Situated very close to NYU, it was packed and had a young artsy atmosphere. The menu is huge so we started with some red wine and the waitress helped us in choosing the "Peperoni Rossi con Caprino" for our appetizer, which is bread with red peppers and goat cheese. It was delicious especially if you like peppers, so I had high hopes for the pizza! Chelsey and I went with the "Pizza Margherita" and were not disappointed...Derek ordered "Pizza con Prosciutto Arrostito" which is just like a margarita pizza but with prosciutto ham on it. Jared ordered a panini with ham "Prosciutto Arrostito Con Fontina", and everything turned out amazing! Nothing but great things to say about La Lanterna di Vittorio, make sure you stop by for some great Italian food if you're in Greenwich village!
Derek and I went out solo for drinks after dinner in Greenwich village and found ourselves talked into buying tickets for a comedy club at 12:00am at the "Comedy Cellar"...our night took an interesting turn! We were impressed with the line up but it was so late that I honestly don't remember any of their names, I think by the time it was over it was around 1:30-2:00am. We had a blast and laughed our butts off, but by the time it was over we were ready to get to sleep and prepare for the next day's adventures!
