tapas in the morning
I arrived in DC early Saturday morning and the first thing we did was decide on a brunch place! We found a Spanish tapas restaurant called "La Tasca" close to where my sister Chelsey and her boyfriend Jared live in old town Alexandria. I couldn't even tell you what we ordered because it was so much food! When you order from the Sangria Brunch menu you get to choose three tapas courses for $22 and and then you can pick from $2 mimosas, bloody marys and sangrias...great deal right?! The sangria menu is also very large with so many types to choose from. We chose one tapas from each category: meats, vegetable and seafood. (menu above) We decided to order different plates so we could share everything and try out as much as possible. We were overwhelmed by how great everything was. My favorite was the "Albondigas De Cordero" lamb meatballs, they were delicious!
After brunch we planned on going to the Hirshhorn Museum in D.C. and once we arrived they told us that the passes for the "Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors” exhibit were all gone for the day...which was the reason we came! We were so disappointed but still able to go to the first and third floor of the museum. I took pictures of some of my favorites below. (Masterworks, Linn Meyers, Barbara Kruger, etc.) We weren't at the museum too long before we decided to walk back towards the Capital Building and do some sight-seeing. I've been to D.C. many times, so we wanted to get some pictures of the Capital Building since I haven't in the past. Sight-seeing takes a lot out of you and walking around all day gets tiring but we enjoyed our quick visit to the museum and D.C.!
