the book of mormon
Being in New York City for our last night we were so excited to finally see a broadway play! We got ready at the hotel really quick and took a taxi to Eugene O'Neill Theater to see our first play called "The Book of Mormon" and we were blown away! It was funny, the actors were outstanding and the songs were so catchy, it's definitely a must see. It was about 2.5 hours and was so entertaining throughout. I highly recommend this play to anyone looking for a comedy, it was hilarious!
After the play we walked back towards our hotel to a fancy restaurant across the street called "Avra Estiatorio" serving various Mediterranean seafood and specialities. We ordered some red wine and then "Fried Calamari" for our appetizer, fresh tasting and cooked to perfection. For our main entrees we ordered the "Salmon Sashimi" with truffle fries and the "Grilled Organic Chicken" with oregano fries. The sashimi was melt in your mouth delicious and the grilled chicken was apparently a little bit boring for Derek's liking...although, the truffle fries were rich in flavor and tasted amazing! If you've never had truffle fries it has a unique flavor from the truffle oil but adds a rich taste to the french fries. I was very satisfied with this restaurant and all the delicious seafood it has to offer. You definitely have to be a seafood lover to truly enjoy and appreciate this restaurant. It was a great last night in New York, I couldn't have asked for anything better!
